The Town is making big headlines this weekend. All of the reviews have been great. Rottentomatoes.com which give a percentage of positive reviews is at a whopping 93%. It opened this weekend with $23.6 million making it the number movie of the weekend. The fact that Ben Affleck is a previous Academy Award winner is also a good sign for him. With ten films being in the Best Picture category the Academy tends to look at more mainstream popular movies. The Town could be one of them. Others say NO WAY will this film be on any Oscar list. We will just have to wait and see. If you want to be sure and see all of the Oscar movies this season I would see it just in case it slips in. I personally will not have it on my list of Best Picture predictions...at least not yet.
