SOME THOUGHTS

Here are few thoughts and updates from the last few days:

-TRUE GRIT has yet to be released, but it is getting mixed reviews. It is the one film that everyone is waiting to see how it does before deciding if it can get a Best Picture nomination. Hailee Steinfeld is getting a lot of attention. She is in every frame of the movie and I hear that she is great. They are pushing her for a Best Supporting Actress nod because she does not have a chance in the Best Actress category this year. Her shot at winning is growing due to the fact that newcomers seem to do well.

-THE SOCIAL NETWORK continues to gain steam. It is winning almost every critics award for Best Picture. I am not changing my prediction yet that THE KINGS SPEECH will win.

-127 HOURS is sorta losing steam. It does not seem to be playing as well as it was in the fall.

-Best Actress will still come down to Natalie Portman or Annette Bening, but Portman is now looking like the favorite.
