J. EDGAR grossed around $11.5 million for the weekend. While it was in somewhat of a limited release (1,910 theaters) it came in a disappointing 5th place. The reviews have been mixed and with a Rotten Tomato's score of only 40% it's Oscar chances have faded. Leonardo Dicaprio's performance seems to be the only highlight. He still has a chance at a Best Actor nomination, but don't look for J. EDGAR in the Best Picture category.
p.s. Adam Sandler's JACK AND JILL has a Rotten Tomato score of 3%, but still made $26 million! As long as they are making money, Sandler will continue to make horrible movies.
