Eddie Murphy decided to join Brett Ratner and resign from hosting the Oscars. I don't think Murphy wanted to do it all that much and was looking for the first opportunity to get out. It is certainly not a great loss. Murphy previously admitted he would be a lousy host. Rumor has it that Ratner was already behind in production and things were moving slowly.
Let's start this whole thing over!
