The New York Film Critics are announcing their nominations November 29th via Twitter. It was previously going to be November 28th, but they needed one more day to screen THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Which brings up a problem with the early awards. EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE will not be screened until December 3rd. This will knock it's chances out of getting any NYFC nominations. This effort to be the first one out of the gate will no doubt leave out films that would otherwise be considered. What is the rush? Being first is not always better.
