Ben Affleck's The Town opens today. It was screened at the Toronto Film Festival last week. It received some very good reviews, but it is being released pretty early in the season. It is going to have to do big business to stay in the race. Some people have it on their Best Picture prediction list. If you get a chance to see it please send me your comments.
Just realized Matt Awards existed. This is very cool.
ReplyDeleteSaw The Town today. Affleck gives a good performance of a guy who really has nothing good about him but still makes you want to root for him and see him get what he wants. Really low key. As for his directing, the pacing is slow at times but the story develops nicely and nothing about it seems extraneous. I really liked it. Let's say 7.5 out of 10.
